Congratulations to our PRHS students who placed in the SkillsUSA Competition due to their effort and performance. Congratulations to all!
During break, a number of 8 grade students participated in the King for a Day oratorical contest. The students practiced and memorized a one and a half to two minute speech or poem exemplifying the African American experience. I am proud to announce that Rayhana Choudhury, Aleksandra Losada, Meabh McDonnell and Shenny Mejia Campos all received an honorable mention. I am also happy to announce that Samantha Ares placed 3rd and David Ghorbrial placed 2nd among all the 8th grade students that participated. Congratulations to all on a job well done!
It's time to start planning for the 2021-2022 school year! The counselors will be meeting with you individually during the first few weeks of March to discuss your courses for next year. In preparation for our meeting we are asking that you enter your elective requests in advance using this link: https://forms.gle/N3KzWj6FL5kYYU3p7 Please note that these are just preliminary requests - they are not binding and do not secure or guarantee a seat in the course. We will discuss your choices together when we have our meeting. Please follow the instructions on the form and submit it by Wednesday, February 24th.
Parents and students of the Class of 2022 are invited to virtually attend the PRHS Junior College Night on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 7:00pm via Google Meet. This event will include a presentation from the PRHS school counselors regarding an introduction to the college process as well as a panel discussion composed of representatives from area colleges. The panel will address pertinent topics in the college admissions process as well as answer participant questions. We hope that you and your child will join us for this informative program. Please read the letter from the Guidance office for further information.
