    WordWright Achievements!

    A team of students representing Pearl River High School recently won high honors in this year’s first WordWright Challenge, a national competition for high school students. Participating with 693 school teams from all across the country, the Pearl River High School’s English 10 Honors classes Literature classes tied for ninth place in the nation amongst all teams competing at this grade level.

     

    Pearl River students who achieved outstanding individual results in the meet included freshman Aaron Han; sophomores Grace Lynch, Brooke Ortel, and Molly McCormack; and junior James McAllister earned a perfect score, while fellow juniors Karsem Chiamprasert, and Michelle Garvey also performed very well. Congratulations on to the WordWright teams for these great results!!

    Congratulations to many of our students for their academic achievements!

    Congratulations to Lebao Liu for achieving a perfect score on the individual competition at this week's Rockland County Math League meet.  Also, congratulations to Leyuan Liu who is currently Pearl River High School's highest scoring student.  With three meets to go Leyuan is in the running for one of the top scores in the county.  Next meet Jan 15th.

     

    Congratulations to Mathew Ballison for his perfect score at yesterday's 8th and 9th grade math league meet.  Matt is currently our highest scoring student for the year, with Jackson Vonderherst and Ciara Sweeney in second and third place, only one and two points behind the lead.  Next meet January 10th.

      

    Congratulations to Jackson Lawson, Katie Capone and Susan Wu who are currently in a three-way tie as Pearl River's highest scoring students in the New York State Math league.  Lebao Liu and Lilly Hill are just one point behind the leaders.  With three meets to go, anything can happen.  Next meet January 8th.

    Congratulations to our HS World Language Department

    Ms. Paciaroni and students taking her Italian Language courses have received a special grant from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the General Consulate of Italy in New York . The grant supports the Content-based project “Dialoghi al Museo: content-based  learning at the Frick Collection” .

    Juniors and Seniors

    Tuesday, February 5 is RCC Application Day at Pearl River.  RCC representatives will be in Pirate Cove during periods 4-7 to accept application forms and waive application fees!  Click here for details.
